amparo
“amparo” is a short performance film that processes my grief and honors the life of my late abuelita Amparo.
My abuelita contracted COVID-19 in December of 2020, survived, then passed away in March of 2021 due to respiratory issues she incurred afterwards.
I sometimes wonder if she would still be here if she had gotten the vaccine in time, or if things would be different.
This piece includes footage from our last days together, a week before her passing.
May she rest in peace and be celebrated in love.
